Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of ductile iron pipes

Details

Ductile iron pipes have their own advantages and disadvantages, and their advantages are well received by everyone. Let's have more options to choose from. Below, the editor will talk to you about its advantages and disadvantages.

advantage

In medium and low pressure pipelines (generally used below 6MPa), ductile iron pipes have reliable operation, low damage rate, convenient and fast construction and maintenance, and excellent anti-corrosion performance. The newly developed "Rock Shield" series of pipelines can be applied to non excavation construction and are widely used in pipeline construction for crossing rivers, roads, and buildings. The "Sai Zinc" series pipeline uses a special zinc aluminum alloy external spraying process, which greatly improves the corrosion resistance of the pipeline and is widely used in soil construction with strong corrosiveness.

shortcoming

Generally not used in high-pressure pipelines (above 6MPa). Due to the relatively bulky structure of the pipe, mechanical installation is required. After the pressure test, if there is water leakage, all pipes need to be excavated, lifted to a height where they can fit into the clamp, and installed with clamps to prevent water leakage.
